So Project Life didn't always come easy to me. I talked a lot about how I finally found what works for me and one of the things that has helped me is consistency. I put together this layout really quickly this morning because I followed a basic formula I go back to again and again. In fact, this blog post took waaaaay longer to put together than my Project Life layout!
First of all, my photo configurations are fairly consistent, partly because with a 6x8 album there aren't as may options as larger binders, and partly because lately, I've been obsessed with including full page photos.
Secondly, If I'm in a rush, I also try to keep my choice of journal cards consistent. By this, I mean I try to find all my journal cards from a particular collection and only then do I expand my search to my other supplies. This is why I love subscription services, like Gossamer Blue, because I know the journal cards will already be color coordinated.
Lastly, I have an arsenal of embellishments for Project Life ready to go. I like small scale pieces of flair that add texture and so I keep items like this grouped together in a divided box that I pull out whenever I'm working on my album. I also like to to print and cut word strips and titles using my Silhouette Cameo.
So, my formula for Project LIfe usually looks this: 1 big photo + 2 small photos + 2-3 journal cards + embellies. The result is the finished layout you see below. Fast, easy, and something I can keep up with because I'm a firm believer that Project Life should NOT be stressful!
